More on “staying tight” “Cues” for activating more muscle when you lift

As you know, staying TIGHT is so important !!!
I was reading and came across this information…..these cues do work…try ’em.

I was particularly impressed with “growing roots through your feet”… I tried gripping the floor with my toes to do this. Also, you know the cue to pull shoulder blades back and to “tighten the armpits”….well if you add “pull your shoulders as far away from your ears as possible” the CONTRACTION is even more intense….. ( pulling shoulders downward)

here are the cues:

Imagine that you are growing roots through your feet and grab the ground with your entire foot.

Pull your knee caps up into your crotch (“flex” your quads).

Squeeze your glutes like you’ve got a $100 bill between your butt cheeks and someone is trying to yank it out.

Brace your abs like you’re about to take a punch.

And pull your shoulders as far from your ears as possible contracting your lats.
